Cesar Corrales – Principal/Owner
Born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua, Cesar Corrales graduated from in Architecture from the Nicaragua National university in 1981. As a firm principal, Mr. Corrales offers over 33 years of experience, having worked on a variety of projects ranging from office, multifamily, single family, student housing, hospitality and commercial.

Cesar brings a fresh and innovative design talent to all his projects paired with experience and best practices for project delivery. He is committed to comprehensive designs backed by innovative technologies and practices that deliver on the firm’s number one priority of Design Buildings, Building Relationships.

John Cooper, RA, NCARB- Project Director/QAQC
John Cooper is a registered architect and leader for all QAQC and Constructability for Ted Trout Architects & Associates. He specializes in large complex projects providing detailed review, problem solving, and expert knowledge to each of his projects. As evidenced by his 40-year career and tenure in healthcare facilities, John understands design and construction complexities, especially related to high-rise design and construction. Working with John will ensure your project will have a high standard of quality and documentation from inception through construction completion. This includes monitoring project delivery through all phases, coordination of consultant’s work, accurate specifications and hands-on involvement during the construction phase.

John is a graduate of the University of Texas Arlington and has over 40 years of architecture experience. He has worked for very well-known Houston firms such as Kirksey, Morris Architects, and EYP Health. John is registered in eight states as well as Saskatchewan Canada.

Derek Ashworth – Senior Project Manager
Derek Ashworth is a Senior Project Manager with 34 years of experience in architecture and engineering design. Derek is involved in the design of a wide assortment of multifamily, retail, rehabilitation, medical, and senior living facilities. He brings unique perspective with his dual design capabilities providing clear insight and best practices to your project. As your Senior PM, he will guide your project providing leadership, innovative ideas, and implementation through communication and respect.

Derek began his career in civil engineering designing oil and gas related projects such as petroleum service facilities, terminals, piping and instrumentation design and co/branded stations. He is a native Houstonian and enjoys playing, writing, and recording music, as well as drawing, and scale model-building in his spare time.

Mayrem Hernandez – Senior Project Manager
Mayrem Hernandez is a Senior Project Manager for Ted Trout Architects and Associates, with over 18 years of design experience on diverse and complex project types including Multifamily, Hospitality, mixed-use, and single-family residential design. As a Senior Project Manager, she serves as the main project point of contact and will lead your team with transparency, respect, and proven methodologies of success. She is a thought leader with innovative approaches to delivering your project to your highest expectation. Mayrem loves people and thoroughly enjoys building a team and developing relationships.

Mayrem is currently on the path of Licensure in Texas and has been part of Ted Trout Architect’s team since 2005. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time with her three kids and her husband.

Giovanni Fazzolari – Senior Project Manager
Giovanni Fazzolari is a Senior Project Manager with Ted Trout Architects and Associates. He has over 26 years designing Retail, Commercial, Industrial, Multifamily and Residential projects. Giovanni will take your project from concept to completion leading the project and cultivating a team culture of creativity, problem solving, and effective delivery. He also brings field knowledge to his projects with past experience on residential and commercial projects.

Born in Brooklyn New York, Giovanni earned his Bachelor of Art in Architecture from New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury NY. He moved to Houston in 1998 where he began his career in the multifamily and retail space. “I enjoy working with Ted Trout Architects where I can manage various projects at once and can exercise my problem-solving skills.” He enjoys weekend construction hobbies as his most recent was a wood burning stove and 3-wheel recumbent bike.

Khanda Jamil – Project Manager
Khanda Jamil is a Designer supporting all multifamily, retail, commercial clients in the public and private sectors. With over 20 years of experience, she demonstrates a meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for emerging trends and modern designs. Khanda will work with each client stakeholder and project team to ensure each endeavor meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. She is esteemed for her exceptional communication skills, effortlessly conveying visions, and collaborating seamlessly with clients and stakeholders to realize their dreams.

Originally from Iraq, she holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Sulaymaniyah and the University of Baghdad. Beyond her professional pursuits, Khanda is fueled by a passion for painting, reading history books and novels, and a dedication to fitness.

Patricia Serrano – Designer
Patricia Serrano brings 24 years of experience design spaces in a practical and functional way, trying to integrate the beauty of nature and natural lighting as much as possible, where the essential commitment is to the people, individuals, and communities that inhabit and give life to your project. Patricia will support the team as designer through different stages of the project. She has experience in permitting, planning and coordination for projects in Entertainment, retail and commercial spaces. When she is not at work, she loves exercising and spending time with her friends and family.

Zahraa Ghaleb – Project Manager
Zahraa Ghaleb is a Designer with 14 years of experience working with public and private clients. Having studied architecture in the United Kingdom, Zahraa brings a worldly view of projects with experience on single family and multifamily projects as far as Jordan to the USA. She is versed in BIM modeling and will work with the senior project manager in developing a comprehensive experience while delivering success to your project.                    

Maria Corrales – Revit Specialist
As the newest member of the team, Maria Corrales oversees the implementation of BIM modeling to effectively develop Projects in 2D and 3D, where critical decisions are made in coordination with other disciplines, improving the handling of resources to the maximum and resulting in higher quality/ more accurate finished designs. She describes herself as a creative, practical, and enthusiastic person, eager to learn a little bit more every day. With a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the National University of Engineering in 2013, Maria is on her way to being a full time PM with aspirations of getting her license and developing a long career in Houston. She speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese and likes to spend her free time exploring the various attractions the city of Houston has to offer.

Kevin Chustz – Production Lead
Kevin Chustz is a native of South Austin. He has been with the office since 2005. Originally, he studied geology in college. Afterward, he started working with an interior designer and then went on to work for a company designing gas stations and convenience stores for Conoco and Chevron. In 2000, he began learning to design multifamily housing and started specializing in details and building codes. In his free time, he enjoys doing crosswords and taking long country rides, exploring new places he hasn’t seen before.
